The detection and analysis methods for petroleum pollutants: infrared method, gravimetric method, gas chromatography method, fluorescence method, infrared method. Principle and basis of fluorescence detection of petroleum: After extracting petroleum substances in water with n-hexane, aromatic hydrocarbons in petroleum can produce fluorescence under UV excitation, and the intensity of fluorescence is linearly related to the content of petroleum. The fluorescence intensity of petroleum substances from different sources is very similar, and a unified standard substance can be used. Although fluorescence spectrophotometry can only detect aromatic hydrocarbons in water, experiments have shown that all petroleum pollutants contain aromatic hydrocarbons, which are also stable components in pollution, accounting for over 90% of the pollutant content. After petroleum pollutants enter water, hydrocarbons below C18 are insoluble in water, and 90% will evaporate within a few hours. Low molecular weight aromatic hydrocarbons dissolve in water, and their concentration gradually increases and remains relatively stable.
